... von Melbourne aus an der Küste entlang Richtung Osten, zum Willsons Promontory, einem Nationalpark am südlichsten Punkt des australischen Festlandes. Cape Petersen, das Squeaky Beach (quietschiger Strand) und der ungefähr 500 m hohe Mount Oberon waren die Ziele.

Kein Glück hatten wir beim Versuch, Wale zu sehen. In den nächsten zwei Monaten sind sie auf Tour und die Schilder am Logans Beach bei Warrnambool berichten von Wilma, die hier ihr Winterquartier hat. Weder Wilma noch sonst ein Wal war da, dafür aber die Surfer.
  Spaß gemacht hat der Ausflug am Geburtstag der Königin allemal.

We were not the lucky ones, when trying to see whales. In the next two months they are on their way passing the Logans Beach near Warrnambool and the information boards tell about Wilma, a whale who took his winter accommodation here. Neither Wilma nor another whale was there, but the surfers instead.
  We had a lot of fun on our trip at Queen's Birthday anyway.
